About the Author

Karen Smith is a Beijing based curator and critic specializing in Contemporary Chinese Art. Author of Nine Lives: The Birth of Avant-Garde in New China, she has also curated a number of exhibitions including 'The Real Thing' at Tate Liverpool and 'Subtlety' at Platform China to name but a few.

Hans Ulrich Obrist is Co-Director of Exhibitions and Programming of International Projects at the Serpentine Gallery. Playing an extremely influential part in multiple international exhibitions and biennales, including 'Manifesta 1' and the '50th Venice Biennale' - Obrist's is also distinguished for his collection of insightful and critical artist interviews (The Interview Project) held with some of the most pioneering contemporary artists. 

Bernard Fibicher is Director of Musée Cantonal des Beaux-Arts de Lausanne. His exhibitions include ‘Six Feet Under: Autopsy of our Relationship to the Dead’, ‘Mahjong: Chinese Contemporary Art from the Sigg Collection’, and ‘Ai Weiwei’.

Worldwide Shipping

Your new book will be carefully wrapped in tissue paper and shipped to you in secure mailer boxes.

You may also choose to collect your book in person from the gallery. We will ensure that your book is packed and ready to go on your arrival.

Please note that if the book is being shipped internationally from the UK, that you may be liable to pay import/duty charges which are not covered by our shipping fee. 

Returns

We offer a 14 day returns policy on all of our books, on the basis that these are returned to us in the condition in which they were dispatched. If you have a query about a publication that you have bought please do not hesitate to get in touch and we will assist you in the best way that we can.
